Spiritual, Metaphysical, Magic, Psychic, Intuition, Mystics, and the Paranormal

I am going to be very clear right away that none of the words in the title have any meaning other than that we do not know the science of physics behind the phenomenon we experience, witness, or express in these categories.

Along the same lines, dividing the human being into a mind, body, soul, and spirit does nothing but complicate issues unnecessarily.

Further dividing the mind into the conscious and the unconscious, or into an ego, superego, and id, are equally as inefficient.

I have written before that we are in a sort of stone age when it comes to the science of physics. I am certain that if we were still struggling under the "laws of physics" that Aristotle defined, we would never have been able to get an airplane off the ground, and certainly no one would have stepped on the moon. It was necessary for Galileo to spend years under house arrest for his "crimes" and then Isaac Newton to begin to redefine physics, in order for us to have the technology we have now.

But Isaac Newton only scratched the surface with archaic tools, inadequate science, and preconceived notions and perspectives left over from the 2,000 year "reign" of Aristotelian physics.

Now we are sitting on a veritable gold mine of information, quantum mechanics, which again thoroughly redefines our physical world. Modern physicists say they cannot explain it to "us", others say that the phenomenon only apply to the atomic world, not the physical world we live in, others are still perspectively steeped in their own Newtonian backgrounds that they define their discoveries from an outdated viewpoint.

So we common people try to navigate through our physical world with antique "laws" and inadequate understandings. And we still have the medical, psychological, economic, and technological models that are left over from the less definitive classical physics.

Do you realize what I am writing? That when you go to your doctor you are trusting a professional in a field with centuries old misconceptions about our physical world. Bacteria, viruses, and other pathogens navigate through the same physical world that we do. What if "they" understand it better than we do? What if we were able to understand it far more accurately and comprehensively? Would we have better methods toward achieving health and well being?

I am suggesting that yes, we must assimilate the quantum mechanical understandings into our general knowledge base. This may cause, hopefully, a revolution in all the fields of science, and a redevelopment of more accurate models through which we view our physical world.

What does this have to do with the psychic or supernatural?

An example of what I am talking about concerns the energetic fields that surround every material object, animate or inanimate. Neuroscientists affirm that we have very sensitive sensory receptors that detect what used to be called "vibrations". These sensory receptors are located in our skin and protected from over stimulation by very complex layers of fluid filled vessicles.

When you turn and face someone who has been staring at you and you realize that you could feel that, even though they did not "touch" you "physically", this is the neuron that receives that information. The attention of the other person could be considered an "energetic field" and the neuron imaged above could be considered a "field receptor".

This is just one example. There are plenty more.

In this example, if we did not know there were energetic fields, or if we did not know we had the neurons to detect them, we would consider the phenomenon in the realm of the psychic. I am basically affirming that a study of current science may lead us to understand far more about our world than we thought possible. Even if we just start to pay more attention to what happens around us, our conscious awareness will grow and we will become more alive and vibrant beings.
